Here’s why I took therapy and you should too!

I clearly recall that one time I felt my entire body going numb. I was under stress and also exceptionally overwhelmed . I was on a call with a friend and told her about that. She said next time that happens, name five things you can touch, four you can hear and three you can smell. It helps come back to the present and is an exceptionally good grounding technique for a panic attack. The very next day she called and mentioned the most dreaded word and a foreign concept in South Asian households, “therapy”.  She said I should go for it.  I was too hesitant at first because I am officially going to a space that no one in my entire generation dared to explore. I was well aware of the stigma attached to it. Anyways I thought let's just start and see where it takes me. A few sessions later I felt so clear and coherent in my thoughts and started exhibiting a very calm demeanor.
